Being a small business owner is one of the most challenging roles a person can tackle.  It takes a solid team of advisors for any business owner to cover all their bases and be successful.  You’ve got to seek help from multiple sources.

For example, if you’re a start up business, you should be sure to make a connection with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in your area.  Like the good work they are doing in Corpus Christi, TX, your local SBDC can help you get the fundamentals in place so you can focus on serving your customers and growing your business.

Hats off to the Corpus Christi SBDC!

ORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) –

The first year for a small business is crucial to get off the ground.  That’s why the Small Business Development Center at Del Mar College tries to help those start-up businesses succeed in the Coastal Bend.
We spoke with a new dentist who says she owes her own success to the organization who has helped her every step of the way.
Marilyn Brodeur with the Infant Dental Center specializes in a laser procedure that removes restrictive tissue in a baby’s mouth so they can feed better.
The dentist has only been in business since November, but has already helped a number of infants.
She says her dental center first started as an idea.
Brodeur knew the dentistry, but didn’t know what steps to take to start her own small business.
That’s when she found the Small Business Development Center.
The center’s own success dependent on the success of the owners of the small businesses they help.
Next month on August 5th, the organization is holding their 4th annual Big Event at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center.
The event is an opportunity for business owners to grow their new business and access new markets.
