As we celebrate this Memorial Day weekend, I am reminded of the many service men and women who answered the call to serve our country. I am sure that each of you know several who have served and perhaps even died so that we might enjoy this country we call home.

I sincerely hope you take time during this weekend to reach out and thank those you know who served in our armed forces.

Take Time to Honor those Special Mements in Your Life – and Your Business

And, while you have a few minutes to relax, reflect and think about the future, why not take time to reflect on the significant milestones in your business and the individuals who helped you achieve those significant milestones or accomplishments.

Everyone appreciates being honored in some special way. And while we work day in and day out following our regular business routine, it is easy to overlook or bypass an anniversary, milestone, accomplishment or goal achieved.

As a business owner, the accomplishment may not seem like a big deal, but to those involved, those who worked hard to help make the moment happen, it is not only a big deal, it may be their only opportunity for a moment in the spotlight.

So what are the spotlight moments that you celebrate with your team? How do you make your team feel special – like they are the most important people in the world to you – if only for a day?

Here’s a suggestion: If you don’t yet have a special something to celebrate with your team, now is the time to find one! Find some way to recognize the hard work and dedication of those who have helped you build a successful business. Find a way to make them feel special. Dedicate a day, create an event, memorialize the significant accomplishment in some meaningful way.

You will reap the benefit for years to come – and you may just create a team of devoted followers. Everyone likes to be recognized. Everyone likes to be honored. Take time to honor those you work with. You will not be sorry you did!
